About Biodiesel
Biodiesel can be used wherever petro-diesel is
now used. It contains no aromatics or sulfur and offers excellent
lubricity to engine pumps and injectors which petro-based products do
not. It can also be blended with petro-diesel. Biodiesel is
biodegradable and reduces our air pollutants (carbon monoxide and
hydrocarbons). According to the national biodiesel board, biodiesel is
1/10th as toxic as table salt and it biodegrades as fast as sugar.
Particulates released can be 95% less than those released by
petro-diesel. It is a safe and renewable resource fuel.
Biodiesel is a cleaner burning fuel that can be made from
domestic renewable resources such as soybean oil. Soybean farmers have
invested millions of checkoff dollars in the research and development
of biodiesel. The alternative fuel can be used in its pure form
or blended with petroleum diesel at any level.
Biodiesel can be used by anyone with an oil
furnace or hot water heater or anyone with a diesel car, truck,
tractor, generator, or other diesel engine. Trucking fleets may find
biodiesel an easy way to comply with clean air laws. Power companies
can use biodiesel to make electricity. Biodiesel can be used
anywhere that petro-diesel is now used without any modifications to the
engine in most cases. Biodiesel can also be pumped easily from the gas
station on the corner. None of the delivery infrastructure needs
to be changed as biofuels can be delivered to the public in the same
way that petro products are delivered today. Biodiesel
significantly reduces emission such as carbon monoxide, unburned
hydrocarbons and virtually free of sulfur and aromatics. Biodiesel
offers smilar fuel economy, horsepower and torque to petroleum diesel
while providing superior lubricity. Today, it is the fastest
growing alternative fuel in America, and about 400 major fleets use
biodiesel nationwide. Approximately 300 retail filling stations
make various biodiesel blends available to the public , and more than
1,000 petroleum distributors carry it nationwide. We estimate that
renewable fuels could in a short amount of time cut our dependence on
imported petroleum oil products. All the while, we would also be
creating thousands of jobs, helping farmers by creating a greater
demand for oil barring crops, and cutting the emission of greenhouse
gases drastically. Biodiesel cleans the deposits left behind by
petroleum products. Therefore, we recommend a gradual transition to
biodiesel to avoid a potential blockage of your fuel line by the
deposits. For in depth information feel free to contact us.
